Don’t cry for me for I am free from this body that would not let me do the things that I love. Construction has been my life, early to rise with a thermos of coffee and out the door I would go. Whether it is a Cat, Dozer, or Queen Mary (Ford Cab over truck), I am in my glory hauling loads to Minneapolis, building that road, oil location, hauling dirt, scoria or gravel. In the winter months, plowing snow to open those roads so we can get to and from what we all feel is so very important to us. A good auction where you get a good deal, like the truck that was bought when the cat jumped up on the keyboard or just simply visiting with friends that share the same interests. Music; how I love those polkas and waltzes; especially Molly B on Big Joe Polka Show. You can find me sitting in my chair with the music cranked in my garage sharing the delightful sound with the neighbors and watching the younger kids drive by to find that yes, I do like to listen to my music loud too.

Dean was born on May 10, 1939 the son of Emil and Marie (Stern) Baesler in New Leipzig, ND. Dean received his education to the 8th grade at a country school north of New Leipzig. He lived on the home place where he farmed and ranched for Pauls and neighbors in the area. At the age of 16, Dean worked for Swindler ranching and farming, the Sprecher Coal Mine north of New Leipzig and drove truck for Roehl and Schriock. Dean met Janice Bertsch in 1960 and they were married on December 22, 1962 at the New Leipzig Lutheran Church. To this union 2 children were born; Dawn Diane in 1963 and Darren Dean in 1965. Living in an apartment in Elgin and later moving to Bowman in April of 1963 where Dean Worked for Melvin Miller Construction working in the Uranium mine by Ludlow. Later he went on the road hauling grain to Minneapolis with the Queen Mary. He invested into the company in 1968 and later in 1984 bought the Corporation and ran a successful company until selling out in 1988 and then turning around and getting into the construction again but on a smaller scale with his son by his side to help run things. At the age of 71, Dean slowly turned the corporation over to his son Darren and he would continue to check things out to make sure things were being ran like he thought it should be. The one thing he had was a soft spot for his grandkids. He usually showed his love by buying them 4 wheelers, electric scooters, and mopeds. They could probably ask him for about anything and if he found it at an auction or pawnshop he would get it for them. One thing about papa was he loved to give ooh ahh's, couldn't leave papas house without a big ooh ahh.

After losing the love of his life in 2010, who was always by his side in running the company, Dean did meet someone special; Adline Kinney to share his life with for a short time until their health separated them.

Dean is survived by his children; Dawn (Tony) Heick and Darren (Lois) Baesler all of Bowman, grandchildren; Amber Heick of Fargo, Daniel Baesler of Fargo and Matthew Baesler of Bowman, sister, Doris (Clifford) Okken of Arizona, sisters-in-law, Eileen Baesler of New Leipzig and Helen Baesler of Williston, Fran Bertsch and Deb of Omaha, NE and numerous family and friends; and special friend, Adline Kinney.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Marie Baesler, wife, Janice Baesler, Brothers Don Baesler, Duane Baesler and infant brother; in-laws, Herman and Annie Bertsch, In-laws Laverne, Steve and Erin Seehafer and Lavonne and Mike Stegmiller.
