My suggestion is to have the App reconnect us transparently, as soon as the network is back up, and allow us to navigate the App and make locally-cached changes to other settings while it's logging us in behind the scenes.

See, there's no firmware on the TP-Link site or indeed anywhere I can find, that corresponds to TP-Link Archer C20 v1 Router version I have for this router. If you Google "tp-link firmware " the only hits are for the Archer VR, a far more premium model. This process usually works for resetting any router to it's factory setting.
If that doesn't work be sure to check out the questions and answers incase someone else has had similar problems resetting their router. The device-side work-around is to disable DAD like I show above, but this is somewhat ugly.
There might be a way to disable it on a per-network basis with Network Manager see dad-timeoutbut I have not tried this yet. It is also still not clear why some devices appear to work.

It might be that Android simply disabled duplicate address detection in 6. This Mikrotik manual suggests that such repeated multicast packets are expected on wireless access points that are aware of multicast addresses.
